    I build RankPulse, one of the tools below, so read the ranking with that in mind. Prices were checked on each vendor's public pricing page in August 2026, quoted at the monthly rate before annual discounts. On this page most rivals beat RankPulse for most readers, and I say exactly where inside each entry. Prices move and tiers get renamed, so each one links to the vendor's own page. Check it before you buy anything.

    1. RankPulse [Cheapest, monitoring only]

    $9/month flat, one plan, checked August 2026

    I built RankPulse to do one job. It watches Moz's numbers for 3 domains daily at 06:00 UTC, plus 2 competitors each checked weekly, and emails you when something moves. The data is Moz's own, pulled through RapidAPI, so the DA you read is the DA Moz publishes.

    Strong: You keep the exact DA, PA and Spam Score you had on Moz Pro for $9 instead of $79. Alerts are event-driven, so a month with no metric change produces no email. The free checker at /check runs 3 domains a day with no signup, which is enough to sanity-test it before paying.

    Limits: There is no link index behind it, so it can say your backlinks fell from 412 to 396 and never say which 16 went. No keyword research, no rank tracking, no site crawler, no API. Moz recomputes its index roughly every 3-5 weeks, so most daily checks find nothing and send nothing. If you used Moz Pro for anything beyond the four numbers, this replaces about a fifth of it.

    2. Ahrefs [Best overall replacement]

    Ahrefs is the honest answer for most people leaving Moz Pro. It has its own crawler and link index, plus keyword research, rank tracking and site audit in one subscription. It covers every Moz Pro job and does the link half noticeably better.

    Strong: It names the individual lost link with the referring page, anchor text and the date it vanished. Ahrefs Webmaster Tools gives you that link data free for domains you verify, which is a real answer for a solo site owner. Site audit and rank tracking are included rather than sold as add-ons.

    Limits: $129 a month is well above Moz Pro Standard and fourteen times RankPulse. Ahrefs bills credit overages on top of the plan fee, so heavy months cost more than the sticker. It reports Domain Rating, not DA, so a two-year Moz history does not carry across and your old benchmarks reset.

    3. Semrush [Widest feature surface]

    Semrush is the broadest suite of the eight, covering organic search, paid search, backlinks and content in one login. People leaving Moz Pro for agency or client work usually land here. It is a bigger tool than Moz Pro rather than a cheaper one.

    Strong: Backlink Audit flags toxic links and feeds a disavow file directly. The SEO plan tracks 500 keywords, which covers most small sites without an upgrade. PPC and competitor ad data exist nowhere else on this list.

    Limits: At $139 a month it is the most expensive entry here and well above Moz Pro Standard. Authority Score is Semrush's own model, so it will not match your Moz DA. The interface holds dozens of reports you will never open, and the Pro plan caps you at 5 projects.

    4. SE Ranking [Best value full suite]

    SE Ranking covers the same ground as Moz Pro at roughly the same monthly price, with more generous rank tracking. It suits freelancers and small agencies who bill clients for reports. The plan lineup was renamed to Core and Growth, so older Essential and Pro comparisons are out of date.

    Strong: White-label reports and client logins come with the plan rather than as an upcharge. Rank tracking is daily and covers more keywords per dollar than Moz Pro. Backlink monitoring, site audit and keyword research all sit in one place.

    Limits: Core at $129 a month is no cheaper than Moz Pro Standard, so this is a swap and not a saving. Its Domain Trust score is its own model and will not equal your Moz DA. Keyword limits multiply per project, which makes the bill climb faster than the headline suggests.

    5. Mangools [Cheapest full suite]

    Basic $61/month, or $37.70/month billed annually, checked August 2026 · check current price

    Mangools bundles five small tools: KWFinder, SERPChecker, SERPWatcher, LinkMiner and SiteProfiler. It is the closest thing to Moz Pro's shape at a third of the price. The interface is the friendliest on this list by some distance.

    Strong: $49 a month buys keyword research, rank tracking and backlink data together, versus $79 for Moz Pro Standard. Basic includes 100 keyword lookups a day and 200 tracked keywords, which is plenty for one or two sites. Annual billing cuts about 35% off.

    Limits: The link index is smaller than Ahrefs or Majestic, so it misses links the big two find. There is no full site crawler, so Moz's Site Crawl has no direct equivalent. Its authority metrics are its own, not Moz DA, and reporting is thin if you invoice clients.

    6. Ubersuggest [Pay once, no subscription]

    Individual GBP 290 lifetime, Business GBP 490, Enterprise GBP 990, checked August 2026

    Ubersuggest is the budget end of the suite market and the only one here selling a one-off lifetime licence. It covers keyword ideas, basic rank tracking, a site audit and a backlink report. It suits someone who wants a rough number rather than a precise one.

    Strong: GBP 290 once beats a monthly suite inside three months and never bills again. There is a genuinely usable free tier through the web app and Chrome extension. Setup takes minutes and the learning curve is close to flat.

    Limits: Data accuracy trails Ahrefs and Semrush noticeably on backlinks and search volume. Lifetime plans carry feature-decay risk: limits and tiers get restructured over time and you have no leverage. Its authority score is not Moz DA, so switching resets your history.

    7. Majestic [Best pure link index]

    Lite $49.99/month, Pro $99.99/month, checked August 2026 · check current price

    Majestic does links and nothing else, which is exactly what some Moz Pro users actually wanted. Trust Flow and Citation Flow are the oldest link metrics still in active use. The Historic Index on Pro reaches back further than anything else sold here.

    Strong: $49.99 a month buys a dedicated link index for 37% less than Moz Pro Standard. Clique Hunter and bulk backlink checking on Pro have no Moz Pro equivalent. The API plan at $399.99 with 100 million analysis units is a real option if you need to build on the data.

    Limits: There is no keyword research, no rank tracking and no site crawler, so it replaces one quarter of Moz Pro. Trust Flow is not DA and the two do not convert. Lite at $49.99 restricts you to the Fresh Index, so the historic data most people want sits behind the $99.99 tier.

    8. Google Search Console [Best free option]

    Search Console shows the links Google actually found, which is the only link list Google acts on. It costs nothing and covers domains you verify. Every site owner should have it open regardless of what else they pay for.

    Strong: Free forever with no plan limits, and the data comes from Google rather than a third-party crawler. It shows top linking sites, top linked pages and anchor text. Paired with Ahrefs Webmaster Tools, also free, it covers most of what a solo owner needs from links.

    Limits: It only covers domains you can verify, so competitor research is impossible. The link report truncates, updates slowly, and gives you no DA, PA or Spam Score. There are no alerts on link changes, so you have to log in and compare by hand.

    9. Moz Pro, staying put [The incumbent]

    Worth naming as an option, because downgrading beats switching for some people. Starter at $39 a month keeps Link Explorer, Keyword Explorer and Site Crawl in reduced quantities. If you open three Moz Pro tools every week, nothing on this list is a straight upgrade.

    Strong: Nothing else gives you DA, PA, Spam Score, Link Explorer, Keyword Explorer, rank tracking and Site Crawl under one login. Monthly billing exists at $59 for Starter if you will not commit to a year. The metrics you have benchmarked against for years stay continuous.

    Limits: Extra seats cost $49 per user per month and extra campaigns $10 each, so team use inflates fast. The link index is smaller than Ahrefs and Majestic. Standard at $79 is nearly nine times RankPulse if the only thing you open is the DA number.

    Frequently asked questions

    RankPulse is one person. What happens when you lose interest or get run over?

    Fair question, and the honest answer is that RankPulse would stop. There is no team, no support phone number and no enterprise paperwork behind it. Two things limit your downside. Billing is $9 monthly with no annual commitment, so the most you can lose is one month. The metrics are Moz's own, not mine, so any tool on this list serves the same DA tomorrow. You would lose the alert history, not the numbers.

    Can I really keep Moz's DA after cancelling Moz Pro?

    Yes, and this is the whole reason RankPulse exists. Moz sells its metrics through an API, and RankPulse pulls DA, PA and Spam Score through RapidAPI, so the figures are literally Moz's. What you lose is the rest of Moz Pro: Link Explorer, Keyword Explorer, rank tracking and Site Crawl. Both halves are true at once, and the second half is the bigger one for most people.

    Are the free options good enough to replace Moz Pro?

    For a lot of solo site owners, yes. Google Search Console plus Ahrefs Webmaster Tools costs nothing and covers links, indexing and technical issues on domains you verify. Neither gives you DA, PA or Spam Score. Neither lets you look at a competitor's domain. Search Console's link report also updates slowly and truncates. If those gaps do not bother you, do not pay anybody, including me.

    Does Domain Authority even matter? Google says it does not use it.

    Google does not use DA, and Moz has never claimed otherwise. DA is Moz's model predicting ranking ability on a 1 to 100 log scale, trained on Moz's index. It is useful as a relative gauge, for instance judging whether a guest post prospect sits at 18 or 62. It is useless as a target to optimise. If you would not act on the number changing, do not pay anyone to watch it.

    What is the cheapest way to keep watching DA after leaving Moz Pro?

    Moz's free Link Explorer gives you limited monthly queries at $0 if you are happy checking by hand.     Ahrefs Lite at $129 a month, if the budget survives it. It replaces every Moz Pro job and beats Moz on the link half, which is what most people were paying Moz for.
