RankPulse vs Moz Pro

RankPulse reports Moz's Domain Authority, Page Authority and Spam Score daily and emails you when they move, for $9 a month. Moz Pro is a full research suite with keyword tools, rank tracking and Link Explorer. They do different jobs.

    Where Moz Pro is better

Moz owns the data. RankPulse rents it.

The DA, PA and Spam Score I show you are Moz's, pulled through a Moz API on RapidAPI. Moz built the crawler, the index and the model. If Moz changes its API terms tomorrow, Moz Pro is fine and RankPulse has a problem.

Link Explorer shows the actual links

Moz Pro lists discovered and lost links with source URL, anchor text and the authority of the linking page. RankPulse shows one total and whether it moved. When links drop, Moz Pro tells you which ones.

Keyword Explorer, rank tracking and Site Crawl

Moz Pro is a working SEO suite: keyword difficulty scores, ranking reports and a crawler that flags duplicate content and broken pages. RankPulse does none of that and will not start.

Moz's free tools cover casual use

Link Explorer's free tier and the MozBar extension give you DA lookups for nothing, with a monthly query cap. If you check a handful of domains by hand each month, you need no subscription from anyone.

Years of depth behind the four numbers

Link intersect, top pages, anchor text distribution, Brand Authority, historical comparisons. Moz Pro has a decade of features stacked on the same index. RankPulse ships four numbers and a chart.

    Where RankPulse is better

    Built for watching, not researching

Moz Pro starts at $49 a month and Standard is $99, checked August 2026, because it is a full suite. RankPulse is $9 because it does one thing: watches DA, PA, Spam Score and link count on 3 domains plus 2 competitors each, and emails you when one moves.

    The email is the product

Moz Pro sends scheduled campaign reports and crawl issue alerts. RankPulse is event-driven. DA falls from 34 to 31 and you get an email that morning. Nothing moves, nothing arrives in your inbox.

    9 domains for $9

Three tracked domains, each carrying 2 competitor domains. Competitor domains need no verification and no campaign setup. Paste them and they are watched from the next 06:00 UTC run.

    Nothing to learn

Moz Pro has campaigns, crawls, keyword lists and report builders. RankPulse has one screen. Adding a domain takes about ten seconds and there is nothing else to configure afterwards.

A free checker with no account

At /check you type a domain and get Moz's DA, PA, Spam Score and backlink count with no signup. It is rate-limited per IP per day. Moz's free tier asks you to create an account first.

    Frequently asked questions

Are the DA and PA numbers really identical to Moz Pro's?

Yes. Same index, same model, delivered through Moz's API instead of the Moz Pro interface. If Moz says your DA is 38, RankPulse says 38.

So this is a markup on Moz's API. Why not buy from Moz directly?

That is an accurate description. I pay for API access, add daily scheduling, change detection and email, and charge $9 for it. If you want the suite, buy from Moz. If you only want the four numbers watched, my markup still costs less than Moz's entry tier.

I already pay for Moz Pro. Should I add RankPulse?

Probably not. You already have the data and the tooling. All RankPulse adds is a same-day email when a number changes. That is a thin gap to spend another $9 on when you are already spending $99.

What happens if Moz cuts off API access?

RankPulse stops working, I tell you, and I stop billing. I keep a second RapidAPI seller as a fallback, but the underlying index is Moz's either way. This is a genuine dependency, not a hypothetical one.

Moz updates its index every 3 to 5 weeks. Is a daily check theatre?

Partly, and I would rather say so. Most daily checks return the same values and send nothing. The value is the 24-hour detection window on the day the index does move, plus backlink counts, which shift more often than DA does.

RankPulse watches your backlinks, domain authority and spam score every day and emails you when they move. $9/mo, cancel anytime.
